Our First Wedding at the Property: A Dream in Full Bloom

This past month, a dream of mine officially came to life. We hosted our very first wedding on our property and I still can’t stop smiling.

Ever since my husband and I planned our own wedding (which was one of the most fun and fulfilling experiences we’ve shared), I’ve held onto the hope that one day we’d be able to turn that love for celebration into something more. A place. A feeling. A venue.

And here we are.

The honor of our very first wedding went to none other than my brother-in-law and his beautiful fiance. With less than a month to plan (yes, less than 30 days), they asked us to help bring their special day to life. Challenge accepted! With a side of anxiety and with a lot of love, a little creativity, and plenty of caffeine, we pulled it off.

What made this wedding so meaningful wasn’t just the rush of pulling it together, it was the love behind it. It was intimate, joyful, and filled with all the little imperfections that make weddings memorable. My favorite? The chickens that decided they, too, wanted to be part of the ceremony and made an unexpected (and hilarious) run down the aisle. It wasn’t planned, but the laughter from the guests made it feel like it was meant to happen that way.

And as we watched two people start their forever under our trees, near our pond, and surrounded by our farm family… it hit me. This isn’t just about throwing pretty parties. It’s about creating sacred spaces where love is celebrated and memories are born.

On our own wedding day, my father-in-law told me that Hollandstands for:

Hope Our Love Lasts And Never Dies.

And now, that acronym holds even more weight. Because love, in all its forms, is what built this dream.

Here’s to the first of many “I dos” at our little slice of heaven.

And to all the future brides, grooms, guests, and yes, even chickens, who will walk this land with love in their hearts.

Stay tuned, because this is just the beginning. But first, we need your help!

While we’ve always talked about turning our land into a wedding venue, we kind of imagined we’d have, you know… a little more time to get ready. Like, a name for starters.

Yep. No venue name yet. Nothing official. Not even a cute wooden sign to point guests in the right direction (unless you count the one that says “watch for cows”).

So now, before we dive into planning more weddings, we’re reaching out to all of you — our family, friends, and followers — to help us brainstorm the name that will define our venue’s future.

Think about it:

What kind of venue makes your heart skip a beat?

Rustic charm with string lights and barn doors?

🌸 Garden estate with flowers and romance?

🐓 Something intimate, outdoorsy, cozy, and full of personality?

We’ve got cows, chickens, a pond, pine trees, wide open skies, and (soon!) a fountain — but we’re still drawing blanks when it comes to the name. We want something that feels like us. Something timeless, a little whimsical, maybe a little spiritual… but nothing we’ve come up with so far has stuck.

So here we are.

Standing in a field.

Covered in wedding glitter and chicken feathers.

Asking for help.

If you have any ideas, please send them our way. Drop a comment, shoot us a message, or yell it across the pasture if you’re nearby.

We’re all ears, and we can’t wait to bring this venue to life together. 💍🌾
